31.08.2026 Court No.25 D/L No.264 S. Gayen In the High Court at Calcutta Constitutional Writ Jurisdiction Appellate Side
WPA 17698 of 2026
Sofikul Islam & Ors. Versus The Election Commission of India & Ors.
Ms. June Modak …for the Petitioners
Ms. Anamika Pandey …for the ECI
1. This Court finds that five petitioners have jointly filed the present writ application and they are not the family members. Thus, the writ petition is not maintainable.
2. Accordingly, WPA 17698 of 2026 is dismissed. However, the dismissal of the writ petition will not prevent the petitioners to file their separate applications, if so advised.
