31.08.2026 IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Item No.794 CRIMINAL MISCELLANEOUS JURISDICTION Ct.No.35 dc. Rejected C.R.M. (NDPS) 1815 of 2026 In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 corresponding to Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 filed in connection with STF HQ Police Station Case No. 01 of 2026 dated 10.01.2026 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(c)/25/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. And In Re : Md. Ali Hasan ... Petitioner. Mr. Souvik Mitter, Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty, Mr. Tathagata Dutta, Mr. S. S. Saha ... For the Petitioner. Mr. Kallol Mondal, Ld. PP, Mr. Anamitra Banerjee, Mr. Sayan Mukherjee ... For the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner was arrested on 22.05.2026 and since then he is in custody. The materials appearing against the petitioner are certain discreet phone calls which do not substantiate regarding the complicity of the present petitioner in connection with the instant case. Learned Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits a report which reflects that there are CDRs reflecting the present petitioner being in touch with other accused viz. Swapan Das, Hemant Digal who happens to be a supplier and also Golam Murselim @ Bijan Sarkar. 2 Having regard to the communications and the relevant check period which have been provided by the investigating agency including the quantum of seizure which is 243.6 kgs. of Ganja, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case for granting bail to the petitioner at this stage. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Memo of Evidence and report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. The application for bail, being CRM (NDPS) 1815 of 2026, is, thus, dismissed. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
