Mr. Avijit Saha ..for the petitioner This application under Article 227 of the Constitution of India is at the instance of the claimant praying for a direction upon the learned Additional District Judge, 3rd Court at Barasat, 24 Parganas (North) to dispose of the case being L.A. No. 75 of 2024 expeditiously. The petitioner filed an application under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 before the Collector for referring the dispute for the decision of the court. Pursuant to such application the Collector has referred the matter to the Land Acquisition Judge. He submits that the proceeding is pending before the L.A. Judge from the year 2024. In view of the order sought and proposed to be passed, there is no necessity to issue notice upon the opposite parties. However, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner shall be obliged to forward a copy of this application along with this order upon the opposite parties or upon the learned advocates representing them before the learned L.A. Judge. 2 In the light of the submissions made by the learned advocate for the petitioner, C.O. 2728 of 2026 stands disposed of by requesting the learned Additional District Judge, 3rd Court at Barasat, 24 Parganas (North) to make an endeavour to dispose of the Land Acquisition Case being L.A. No. 75 of 2024 as expeditiously as possible but preferably within a period of eight months from the next date fixed without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. There shall be, however, no order as to costs. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
