Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the daughter-in-law of the deceased employee, who was working in the Water Resources Department of the State of Chhattisgarh and died in the year 2017. It is submitted that the petitioner submitted an application before the competent authority seeking appointment on compassionate grounds on 28.11.2020. A copy of the said application has been annexed with the writ petition as Annexure P/2. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that though the application was submitted within the stipulated period, the same has not been considered by the competent authority till date. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the State submits that, if the application dated 28.11.2020 submitted by the petitioner, as annexed with the writ petition as Annexure P/2, is still pending consideration before the Executive Engineer/competent authority, the same shall be considered and decided in 3 accordance with law within a period of 40 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3. In view of the aforesaid submission made by learned counsel appearing for the State, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to consider and decide the petitioner's application dated 28.11.2020, in accordance with law, within a period of 40 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.
