D/L612 19.08.2026 Bpg. C.R.M. (A) 2615 of 2026 In Re: An application for anticipatory bail under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Kalna Police Station Case No.491 of 2026 dated 12.06.2026 under Section 316(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023; Krishnendu Chakraborty Versus The State of West Bengal Mr. Uday Sankar Chattopadhyay Ms. Rajashree Tah Ms. Trisha Rakshit Ms. Aishwarya Datta Ms. Bidisha Chakraborty Ms. Sadia Parveen. …for the petitioner. Mr. Palash Chandra Podder Mr. Sourav Mondal. …for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent. There is no personal gain and has been foisted with a criminal case. Additionally, the petitioner being an employee of the Bank is ready and willing to co-operate with the investigation. Learned advocate for the State submits that the present case was initiated at the behest of the present Branch Manager against the previous Manager for unauthorised transaction to the tune of Rs.1.34 crores. The accusation itself reflects that the Bank with their utmost efficiency could recover and trace out only Rs.79 2 lakhs. Having regard to the fact that the trust reposed on a Manager of a Bank or a public servant has been destroyed in this case, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. As such, the prayer for anticipatory bail is refused in CRM(A)2615 of 2026. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
