Affidavit service filed in Court today is taken on record. 2. The petitioner is aggrieved by the non-consideration of the petitioner’s representation dated June 17, 2026 made before the respondent WBSEDCL authorities. 3. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that despite substantial time having been elapsed, the petitioner’s representation has not been considered. It is submitted that the petitioner’s husband died due to electrocution and as such, the petitioner is entitled to compensation from the WBSEDCL authorities. 4. It is submitted on behalf of the WBSEDCL authorities that the petitioner is not entitled to any compensation. 5. Since a representation has already been made before the respondent WBSEDCL authorities, it was 2 incumbent on them dispose of the said representation in accordance with law. 6. Accordingly, the Chairman, WBSEDCL is directed to depute a responsible officer equivalent to the post of the Zonal Manager or above for the purpose of considering the petitioner’s representation dated June 17, 2026 (forming annexure ‘P-3’, at page 16 to 17 of the writ petition). Such representation shall be considered within a period of eight weeks from date. 7. The authority, who would be deciding the representation upon being appointed by the Chairman of WBSEDCL, would afford an opportunity appearing to the petitioner or her representative prior to taking the final decision. The said authority shall pass a reasoned order in accordance with law, within the aforesaid time frame and shall communicate the same to the petitioner within a week from passing thereof. 8. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the petitioner’s claims and the rebuttal thereof by the WBSEDCL authorities and all points are left open to be decided by the concerned Officer. 9. WPA 21348 of 2026 stands disposed of. No Costs. 10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
