Ms. Deblina De
…for the petitioner Mr. Subir Ganguly Mr. Sandeep Prasad Shaw
…for the State
The petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of Sessions Case No. 66 of 2024, arising out of Kalyani Police Station Case No. 537 of 2022, dated September 19, 2022, which culminated in the submission of Charge Sheet No. 515 of 2022, dated October 28, 2022, under Sections 341/326/307/427/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, corresponding to G.R. Case No. 171 of 2024, presently pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Kalyani, Nadia. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, following commitment of the case by the learned Magistrate on March 16, 2024, no charge has yet been framed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Kalyani, Nadia. There is no justification for keeping the present application pending. Accordingly, I direct the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Kalyani, Nadia, to conclude the hearing on charge as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date
2 of communication of this order, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to the parties. Accordingly, CRR 2157 of 2026 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
