ORDER (ORAL) 05.10.2026
1. The short prayer made by the petitioner is that despite the petitioner having supplied the electric goods to the respondents (the functionaries of the Government) strictly in terms of the contract, they failed to honor the admitted dues/liability to the tune of Rs. 2,43,862/-. It is for this reason that the petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the Sr. No. 6

respondents to release the due amount, which is admitted by the respondents. In order to substantiate its assertion, the petitioner has enclosed the reply to the RTI application dated 11.09.2025, furnished by the Superintending Engineer, O&M Circle, Jammu JPDCL. A perusal of the reply so furnished by the respondents/Superintending Engineer reveals that the respondents have already processed the claim of the petitioner for allotment of funds amounting to Rs. 2,43,862/-.
2. In view of the given facts and circumstances, once the respondents have admitted the liability that has arisen on account of performance of the contractual duty, it is the duty of the respondents to pay the outstanding admitted amount to the petitioner strictly in terms of its contractual obligation. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to pay the amount to the tune of Rs. 2,43,862/-, along with interest in terms of supply order and terms and conditions of such contract, as admissible under law after completion of codal formalities.
