The State of West Bengal Mr. Krishan Roy Mr. Subhajit Mukherjee Ms. Isita Kundu ..for the petitioner Mr. Subir Ganguly Mr. Sandeep Prasad Shaw ..for the State This is an application seeking expeditious disposal of ACGR No. 2868 of 2024, arising out of Thakurpukur Police Station Case No. 146 of 2024, dated May 23, 2024, under Sections 420/406/506(ii)/120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, in which Charge Sheet No. 124 of 2024, dated June 19, 2024, was submitted under Sections 420/406/120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The proceeding is presently pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore, South 24 Parganas. It appears that the learned Magistrate in the Court below has fixed December 9, 2026, for hearing on charge. On the last occasion, the accused was absent. In view of the aforesaid, I direct the learned Magistrate in the Court below to conclude the hearing on charge as expeditiously as possible, preferably on the next date of hearing. If, for any reason, the hearing on charge is not concluded on the said date, the learned Magistrate shall make every endeavour to conclude the same within a period of three months from that date, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to the parties. Accordingly, C.R.R. 3380 of 2026 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
