The petitioner is alleged to have extorted Rs.7,30,000/- (Rupees Seven Lakhs Thirty Thousand) from the complainant party, in order to give permission to construct a building on his own land. 2. It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the State that the petitioner was the Upa-Pradhan of the Gram Panchayat and in connivance with other accused persons extorted such money. It further transpires from the materials in the case diary that the petitioner has criminal antecedents. At least two cases were registered against him previously which are similar in nature. The investigation of the case is still in progress. 2 3. In such circumstances, considering the nature of allegations as well as the materials in the case diary, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. 4. Hence, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is Rejected. 5. CRM(A) of 2370 of 2026 is dismissed. (Md.Shabbar Rashidi. J)
