Accused in Crime No.188/2023 registered by RMC Yard Police Station, Bengaluru, for the offence punishable under Section 420 of IPC, is before this Court in this petition filed under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023, seeking anticipatory bail. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.188/2023 was registered by RMC Yard Police Station, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC, against the petitioner herein based on the first information dated 01.10.2023, received from Vasanth Kumar, who is the alleged victim in the present case. Police after completing investigation have filed charge sheet for the offence punishable under Section 420 of IPC against the petitioner. Apprehending arrest in the case, petitioner had filed Crl.Misc.No.6113/2026 before the Trial Court, which was rejected on 02.07.2026. Perusal of the material on record would go to show that first informant Vasanth Kumar, who got acquainted with the petitioner was allegedly informed by the petitioner that he was working in Vidhana Soudha and he had assured of providing him a loan for the purpose of his shop. It is further alleged that petitioner had asked money for the same and the first informant had totally paid a sum of Rs.6,40,000/- to the petitioner in installments. Subsequently, first informant came to know that he was cheated by the petitioner and it is in this background, FIR was registered against the petitioner. Investigation of the case is completed and charge sheet is filed. Considering the nature of allegations found against the petitioner, who has no other criminal antecedents, I am of the opinion that his prayer for grant of anticipatory bail needs to be answered affirmatively. Accordingly, the following order:- 5. The petition is allowed. The respondent - Police or any other police in the State of Karnataka are directed to release the petitioner in the event of his arrest in Crime No.188/2023 registered by RMC Yard Police Station, Bengaluru, for the - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010501052026 NC: 2026:KHC:45026 CRL.P No. 10924 of 2026 offence punishable under Section 420 of IPC, subject to the following conditions: 1. The Petitioner shall appear before the Investigating Officer within 15 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order and shall execute a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- with two sureties for the likesum to the satisfaction of the investigating officer. 2. Petitioner shall regularly appear before the Trial Court without fail unless exempted by the Trial Court for valid reasons. 3. Petitioner shall not tamper with the prosecution witnesses and he shall co-operate with the police for investigation and appear before them whenever called upon. 4.
