1. In terms of previous order a communication dated 24th August, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Basanti Police Station is filed today and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 24th August, 2026 is made over to learned advocate representing petitioners.
2. It is disclosed in the said communication that on 17th February, 2025 residential unit of petitioners was ransacked by respondent nos.5 to 10 and 13 which gave rise to a criminal prosecution being Basanti P.S. Case no.100 of 2025 dated 17th February, 2025. After completion of investigation charge-sheet dated 28th April, 2025 was submitted before the jurisdictional Magistrate.
3. On behalf of petitioners a case is made out in this writ petition based on certain allegations against private respondents and according to petitioners, police protection is required to be provided.
4. However, such case of petitioners is not corroborated by communication dated 24th August, 2026 filed on
[2] behalf of concerned police authority. It is further disclosed in the communication that there is dispute relating to demarcation of plot of land in question.
5. Police authority is not the appropriate authority to demarcate land in question. If petitioners find that their land needs to be demarcated appropriately, petitioners are required to approach appropriate authority/ forum.
6. In view of communication dated 24th August, 2026 filed on behalf of concerned police authority and taking note of fact that completing investigation charge-sheet was filed in Basanti P.S. Case no.100 of 2025 dated 17th February, 2025, no further order need be passed excepting a direction upon the concerned police authority to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale.
7. Writ petition stands disposed of.
