This Contempt Petition has been filed alleging wilful disobedience of the Order dated 21.10.2024, passed in Writ Petition No.1984 of 2024 (S/S), “Surendra Singh Chauhan and Another vs. State of Uttarakhand and Others”. By the Order dated 21.10.2024, the following direction was issued:- “7. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with direction to the Competent Authority to constitute a selection committee, in terms of Regularisation Rules of 2013, which shall consider claim of petitioners for regularisation, as per Rules. This entire exercise shall be completed within three months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.” 2. Heard Mr. Amar Murti Shukla, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. J.S. Bisht, learned counsel for 1 2026:UHC:3132 the State. 3. Mr. Sachin Kurve, Secretary, Medical Education, Government of Uttarakhand, is present before this Court through video conferencing. 4. Mr. J.S. Bisht, Advocate submitted on instructions that the Competent Authority had constituted a selection committee in terms of the Regularisation Rules, 2013 and after considering the matter, has rejected the petitioners’ case. 5. Mr. Amar Murti Shukla, Advocate submitted that the petitioners shall challenge the order dated 25.04.2026, passed by the Competent Authority. However, the petitioners do not want to pursue the present matter further. 6. In view of the above, this contempt petition (No.148 of 2025) does not require any further consideration.
