The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for a limited prayer, seeking a direction that the application filed by the petitioner under Section 13(1) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 before the learned First Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, District Raipur, which has been pending since 20.10.2023, be decided within a reasonable period. It is further submitted that the case is presently fixed for 21.04.2026 for recording the evidence of the non-applicant’s witnesses, as the applicant’s evidence has already been concluded. 3. From a perusal of the order-sheet (Annexure P/1), it transpires that the petitioner filed an application under Section 13(1)(a) of the Hindu Marriage Act on 20.10.2023 before the learned Family Court, Raipur, however, for one reason or another, the proceedings have remained pending. 4. Considering the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner that the applicant’s evidence has been closed, the case is now fixed for recording the non-applicant’s evidence on 21.04.2026, and that the application has been pending since 20.10.2023, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the learned Family Court to expedite the proceedings and decide the matter as early as possible. 5. Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the learned Family Court concerned to expedite the trial and decide the case within a period of four months from the next date fixed, in accordance with law. 6.
