CORAM:
HON’BLE MISS JUSTICE SAVITRI RATHO
ORDER 16.03.2026
Order No.
02. (Through hybrid mode)
1. This CRLMP has been filed to direct the Opposite Parties to investigate into the matter after registration of the FIR. 2. As it was found that instead of a date chart, the Petitioner had filed a synopsis, on 11.03.2026 the matter had been adjourned to today i.e. 16.03.2026 as Mr. A.B. Mallick, learned counsel for the Petitioner undertook to file a properly constituted date chart. 3. As per the office note, the date chart has not been filed. In the first hour, as none appeared on behalf of the Petitioner, the matter has been passed over. When the matter is called again after recess, none appears for the Petitioner. Page 2 of 3
4. Perusal of the CRLMP reveals that Annexure-1 is a complaint dated 29.12.2025 while Annexure-2 series contains a letter addressed to the DCP, Cuttack on 11.02.2026 which has been sent by Speed Post to the DCP on 14.02.2026. 5. Mr. S.J. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel produces instructions dated 11.03.2026 of the IIC, Darghabazar Police Station where it has been stated that on the written report of the Petitioner, MMR No. 01 of 2026 dated 02.01.2026 had been registered and enquiry taken up by the ASI, Abdul Imran Khan. On verification of call detail records, the missing girl was contacted over the mobile number of one Raja Mallik who had made frequent calls to her on her mobile number. She stated that she had got married to Raja Mallik on 12.12.2025 at Siva Temple at Sahaspur as per Hindu rites and custom and they had also executed an affidavit before the Court of Executive Magistrate, Notary Public, Jajpur on 18.12.2025. She has also stated that the Petitioner (her mother) and her father had visited them in their house on 20.12.2025 and she denied of taking gold ornaments and cash from her rented house at Kathagadasahi and she also assured to appear before the Darghabazar Police Station to the end of March, 2026. It is also stated that the allegation of taking
puspa money is still under enquiry and after arrival of the daughter of the Petitioner, further course of action will be taken. 6.
As daughter of the Petitioner has been traced and contacted and as she is a major and claims to have married, I am of the opinion that no useful purpose will be served to keep the CRLMP pending. 7. The Petitioner seems to have lost interest in the case as her daughter has been traced. 8. Hence, the CRLMP is disposed of without issuing any direction. 9. Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application. (Savitri Ratho)
