CRM (A) 1842 of 2026
In Re: An Application for Anticipatory Bail under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 in connection with Burdwan Police Station case no. 456 of 2025 dated 06.10.2025 under Sections 103/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
And In the matter of : Gopal Soren.
……Petitioner. Mr. Manas Kumar Das Mr. Aritra Kumar Thokdar
.....for the Petitioner. Mr. Krishnendu Bhattacharyya, Ld. APP Ms. Priti Kar Bagchi
……for the State.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the application for anticipatory bail is being preferred pursuant to the directions passed in CRR 2061 of 2026. Learned advocate submits that petitioner is innocent. The dead body of the deceased was recovered from a paddy field and petitioner was not named in the FIR. Further, since charge-sheet has been submitted no useful purposes would be served by keeping the petitioner in custody. Mr. Bhattacharya, learned Additional Public Prosecutor produces the Case Diary and draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the lady. I have taken into account the same and I find that petitioner is thickly connected with the offence. Consequently, I am not inclined to extend the benefit of anticipatory bail. Thus, CRM (A) 1842 of 2026 is dismissed.
2 Memo of evidence submitted by the State be kept with the record. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
