Perused the entire writ petition papers. 2. The respondent No.4 herein approached the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal at Bengaluru (for short, ‘the Tribunal’) questioning transfer notification dated 18.03.2026 (Annexure-A5) whereunder the petitioner was posted as Joint Director (Administration) of Karnataka Residential Education Institutions Society, Bengaluru and respondent No.4 was posted as Joint - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010490772026 NC: 2026:KHC:42127-DB WP No. 21963 of 2026 Director, Social Welfare Department, Kolar District against a vacant post. 3. The petitioner herein is working as Additional Director under Rule 32 of KCSRs in the Social Welfare Department, whereas respondent No.4 herein is working as Joint Director of Social Welfare Department. 4. The Tribunal under impugned order dated 08.07.2026 in Application No.2039/2026 set aside the transfer notification dated 18.03.2026 and held that the respondent No.4 herein is entitled to continue in his present post until he completes his tenure or his transfer is necessitated in accordance with law, with a direction to the official respondents to provide suitable posting to fourth respondent – petitioner herein. 5. The above writ petition was heard on 29.07.2026 as well as on 05.08.2026. During the course of hearing, learned Additional Advocate General was - 5 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010490772026 NC: 2026:KHC:42127-DB WP No. 21963 of 2026 queried as to petitioner who is in the cadre of Additional Director under Rule 32 of KCSRs, whether could be posted against the Joint Director post. Thereafter, the State has come forward with notification dated 05.08.2026 providing posting to the petitioner as Additional Director, Office of the Commissioner, Social Welfare Department, Bengaluru in place of one Smt.Vani.N. Learned Additional Advocate General submitted that for providing posting to Smt.Vani.N., Additional Director, file has been put up before the competent authority. 6. However, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner who has been provided with posting under notification dated 05.08.2026 has reported to duty on 06.08.2026 as Additional Director, Social Welfare Department, Office of the Commissioner, Bengaluru. - 6 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010490772026 NC: 2026:KHC:42127-DB WP No. 21963 of 2026 7. In view of the above subsequent developments, the prayer of the petitioner would no more survive for consideration. Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of.
