Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petition has been filed against the inaction on the part of the respondent authorities in not deciding the appeal preferred by the petitioner against the order of penalty dated 11.05.2026, whereby major penalty of withholding of two increments with cumulative effect has been imposed upon him. 2 preferred an appeal before respondent No.1 on 05.06.2026; however, despite lapse of considerable time, the said appeal has neither been considered nor decided. He, therefore, prays for a direction to respondent No.1 to consider and decide the pending appeal within a stipulated time.
2. Learned State counsel has no objection to the prayer made by
learned counsel for the petitioner and submits that, if the appeal is pending, the same shall be considered and decided within a period of 60 days.
3. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the records.

Considering the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and the fact that the petitioner’s appeal dated 05.06.2026 is stated to be pending consideration before respondent No.1, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 to consider and decide the appeal preferred by the petitioner against the penalty order dated 11.05.2026, in accordance with law, by passing a reasoned and speaking order, preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
