S. No. 01 Regular Cause List IN THE HIGH COURT 0F JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR Bail App 157/2024 CrlM(1830/2024) UNION TERRITORY THROUGH POLICE STATION CIK …Appellant(s)/Petitioner(s) Through: None Vs. ZAMEER AHMAD MANGRAL ...Respondent(s) Through: Mr. Sheikh Hilal, Advocate CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY PARIHAR, JUDGE ORDER 30.09.2026 1. There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. 2. It is submitted by the counsel for the respondent that the aforesaid petition calls in question the order of interim bail granted to the respondent on 16.07.2023, in terms whereof the petitioner was admitted on bail in case FIR No. 03/2021 Police Station CIK Srinagar under section 8/12,29 NDPS Act, which order subsequently, has been made absolute. 3. That since the order impugned has merged with the subsequent order of absolute bail, thus, this petition has been rendered infructuous. Even, otherwise also, he further submits that at the time when the respondent was admitted to ad interim bail the prosecution had examined material witnesses and over a period of time most of the witnesses of the witnesses have been examined and as on today only one witness is left to be examined. In that background, he submits that the continuation of the present proceedings is nothing but wastage of time of the court time. 4. Since there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner and having regard to the peculiar facts in this case, the order impugned which is in the nature of a ad interim bail having merged in the subsequent order which has not been challenged by the petitioner renders this petition infructuous due to subsequent events, hence dismissed. 5. Interim direction, if any shall stand vacated. 6. However, the Trial court is directed to ensure that the case is taken to the logical conclusion at the earliest.
