The petitioner has filed the instant petition for following reliefs:- “10.1 That, this Hon’ble Court may issue an appropriate writ/order/direction to the respondent authorities, to decide and act upon the pending representation of the petitoner, within a stipulated time frame of 30 days, and/or 10.2 Issue an appropriate writ/order/direction directing the respondent authorities to release/pay to the petitioner the lawful land acquisition compensation amount of Rs. 22,97,315.33/-, as reflected in the official record, along with appropriate interest for the period during which the petitioner has been deprived of the said amount, and/or 10.3 Issue an appropriate writ/order/direction directing the competent respondent authorities to conduct/complete an effective inquiry into the alleged irregular withdrawal/encashment of the compensation cheque issued in the name of the petitioner and to take the matter to its logical conclusion in accordance with law, and/or 10.4 Direct the respondent authorities to identify and fix responsibility upon the officers, officials, bank officials and/or other persons found responsible for the irregularities, misconduct, negligence or wrongful 3 handling/withdrawal of the petitioner’s compensation amount and to take strict disciplinary and/or legal action against them in accordance with law; and/or 10.5 Direct the competent authorities to recover the amount, from the persons found responsible in accordance with law, and ensure that the same is restored and paid to the petitioner; and/or 10.6 Direct the respondent authorities to pay appropriate compensation/costs to the petitioner for the prolonged deprivation of his lawful compensation amount and the mental agony and hardship suffered by him on account of the continuing inaction and failure of the concerned authorities, in accordance with law; and/or 10.7 Costs of the Petition, 10.8 Any other relief as deemed fit by this Hon’ble Court.” 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner’s representation dated 08.04.2026 (Annexure P/1), raising the grievance regarding non-payment of the compensation amount and supported by the relevant documents on record, is still pending consideration before the competent authority. He, therefore, confines his prayer to a direction upon the competent respondent authority to consider and decide the said representation, in accordance with law, by passing a reasoned and speaking order within a stipulated time. 4. Learned counsel for the State submits that he has not objection to the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 5. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and upon perusal of the record, particularly the representation dated 08.04.2026 (Annexure P/1), this Court is of the view that the ends of justice 4 would be met by directing the competent respondent authority to consider and decide the said representation, in accordance with law, by passing a reasoned and speaking order, within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the competent respondent authority is directed to take a decision on the petitioner’s representation within the aforesaid stipulated period and communicate the decision to the petitioner forthwith thereafter. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the competent authority shall take an independent decision in accordance with law. 6.
