Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has been working with efficiency who has been the Postmaster of a Branch Sub-Post Office. There was enquiry conducted pursuant to a complaint received that a sum of Rs.50,000/- was deposited by the customer which was for the purposes of FDR. The same was not prepared and subsequently there were other accounts which were generated. Learned advocate for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner has refunded the entire amount. The documents submitted by the petitioner be kept with the record.

The case has been initiated at the behest of the Inspector of Post of Belda Sub-Division.
I have taken into account that there is dereliction while discharging official duty and which damages the public trust imposed on Government savings.
Consequently, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case for granting anticipatory bail.
As such, CRM(A)2708 of 2026 is dismissed.
Memo of Evidence submitted by the State be kept with the record.
