For the Petitioners Mr. Mrinal Kanti Sardar Mr. Mukunda Lal Sarkar …. For the State Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record. The posts of Pradhan and Upa Pradhan of Bedrabad Gram Panchayat have fallen vacant due to their resignation from the said posts. The petitioners approached the Prescribed Authority for fixing a date of election of the said office bearers but to no effect. They seek a direction upon the Prescribed Authority to take necessary steps for election of new Pradhan and Upa Pradhan. In view of the fact that the posts of Pradhan and Upa Pradhan are lying vacant due to their resignation, the Prescribed Authority and Block Development Officer, Kaliachak III Development Block, being the 5th respondent herein, is directed to take necessary steps for election of Pradhan and Upa Pradhan at the earliest 2 and conclude the said proceeding within two weeks from the date of communication of this order. The Inspector in Charge, Baishnabnagar Police Station, being the 6th respondent herein, is directed to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority on, before and after the date of meeting so that no untoward incident takes place and there is no breach of law and order. The writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities. (Suvra Ghosh, J.)
