AAG Mr. Lal Mohan Basu …for the State Mr. Kalyan Kumar Chakraborty Mr. Loknath Chatterjee ….for the UOI 1) In terms of the order dated 13th January, 2026 a report is filed which was affirmed by respondent no. 3 on 28th January, 2026. Same is taken on record. 2) On perusal of report it appears that pursuant to notification dated 5th October, 2023 petitioner for engagement as Anganwadi Worker participated in the selection process as an unreserved candidate along with other eligible candidates. There were five posts of Anganwadi Workers out of which three were unreserved and two were reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates. Petitioner is unreserved candidate who was awarded total 28 marks whereas last candidate being third 2 candidate who was selected for the post of Anganwadi Worker was awarded 31 marks. 3) It needs to be recorded herein that in experience petitioner was awarded ten out of ten whereas one Priyanka Sengupta (Patra) being third candidate who was engaged as Aganwadi Worker under unreserved category was awarded zero out of ten. 4) Considering the respective marks obtained by the last candidate who was engaged as Anganwadi Worker under unreserved category and the petitioner it transpires that petitioner did not come within the zone of consideration. 5) Hence, no relief can be granted to the petitioner. 6) Writ petition stands dismissed. 7) Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking.
