1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present writ petition has been filed seeking consideration of the petitioner’s claim for appointment on compassionate grounds in place of his deceased father, late Rambilas Ram, who was working as a Peon at Government Girls P.G. College, Ambikapur, District Surguja, and died while in service. He submits that the petitioner’s application for compassionate appointment was forwarded to the competent authority, i.e. the Commissioner, Higher Education, Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur, vide letter dated 06.01.2024, however, no decision has been taken thereon till date.
2. Learned State counsel, on instructions, submits that the petitioner’s application has already been forwarded to the competent authority and the same shall be considered and decided within a period of 45 days.
3. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.
4. In view of the submission made by learned State counsel, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to consider and decide the petitioner’s application for compassionate appointment, in accordance with law, within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
