Mr. Suman De Mr. Samarjit Balial ….for the State. Learned Senior Advocate appears for the petitioner and submits that the petitioner is in custody for 3 years and 10 months. State has submitted that they intend to examine 8 more witnesses and already 34 witnesses have been examined. This information was furnished on 13.02.2026. Having considered the period of detention of the present petitioner without entering into the merits of the case, I direct that the prosecution would complete their witnesses by 08.05.2026. In the alternative, the learned Trial Court would 2 release the petitioner on bail on such terms and conditions as he deems fit and proper for the purposes of ensuring the further presence of the accused/petitioner in course of the trial. With the aforesaid observations CRM (M) 1670 of 2025 is disposed of. Both the parties are directed to inform the learned Trial Court in respect of the aforesaid directions so that if there is requirement of preponing of dates and/or fixation of schedule, the learned Trial Court would be in a position to adjust the said dates. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
