The petitioner has filed present writ petition seeking benefit of remission as per the provisions of Section 473 of Cr.P.C. and Rule 358 of the Chhattisgarh Prisons Rules, 1968. 2. Learned State counsel would submit that a person who has committed double murder cannot be given benefits of remission in view of the amendment in Rule 358 of the Chhattisgarh Prisons Rules, 1968 vide notification dated 11.06.2026 by the State Government, wherein it has been substituted as under :- ‘For Clause (ix) of Sub-rule (6) of the rule 358 the following shall be substituted, namely :- “(ix) Convicted for more than one murder.” 3. In light of the amended rule, the present writ petition cannot be entertained. 4. Accordingly, the present Writ Petition (Cr.) is dismissed.
