The present petition has been preferred for the following reliefs:- 10.1 Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction commanding the respondents to conclude the departmental enquiry initiated against the petitioner vide order dated 25.05.2019, within a time-bound period, in accordance with law; JYOTI SHARMA Digitally signed by JYOTI SHARMA Date: 2026.09.10 11:31:14 +0530 2 10.2 Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction commanding the respondents to take a reasoned and lawful decision upon the petitioner's claim for promotion to the post of Assistant Engineer, along with consequential service benefits, after conclusion of the departmental enquiry and without being influenced merely by the prolonged pendency thereof, within a time-bound period; 10.3 Pass such other order(s) as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he is not pressing relief No. 10.2. He, however, submits that the departmental enquiry initiated against the petitioner in the year 2019 is still pending and has not been concluded till date. He, therefore, prays that the departmental enquiry may be concluded within a stipulated time. 3. Learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 1 submits that, if the departmental enquiry against the petitioner is still pending, the same shall be considered and concluded within a period of two months. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the records. 5. In view of the submission made by learned counsel for respondent No. 1, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 1 to conclude the departmental enquiry pending against the petitioner since the year 2019, in accordance with law, 3 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the departmental enquiry. 7. With the aforesaid direction, the present petition stands disposed of.
