The Petitioner’s claim for compassionate appointment was rejected by the authorities – the Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada on 10.06.2009. Challenging the said order the petitioner along with one more person filed OA.No.27 of 2011, which was dismissed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad on 26.04.2012. The dismissal was on the ground that the petitioner was not covered under the scheme for appointment. 3 The present petition has been filed challenging the order of the Tribunal after almost Fourteen years of the said order. There is no explanation for such long delay. The laches have not been explained. 4. In the matter of compassionate appointment, the petitioner must approach without delay considering the nature of urgency if it is so. The Writ Petition has been filed belatedly, after about 14 years of the Tribunal’s order. The petition suffers from latches. 5. The Writ Petition is dismissed. 4 No order as to costs.
