Accused nos.6 and 7 in Crime No.70 of 2026 registered by Jayaprakashnagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for offences punishable under Sections 115(2), 140(2), 329(4), 351(2), 352 R/w Section 3(5) of BNS, 2023 are before this Court in this petition filed under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023 seeking regular bail. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.70 of 2026 was registered by Jayaprakashnagar Police Station, for the aforesaid offences against one Praveen and others, based on the first information dated 02.06.2026 received from Chethan V, who is the alleged victim in the present case. During the course of investigation of the said case, petitioners herein were arrested on 06.06.2026 - 3 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010420152026 NC: 2026:KHC:40149 CRL.P No. 8883 of 2026 and remanded to judicial custody. In their remand application, they are arraigned as accused nos.6 and 7. Their bail application filed before the jurisdictional Sessions Court in Crl.Misc.No.5663 of 2026 was rejected on 18.06.2026. Therefore, they are before this Court. 4. In the first information dated 02.06.2026 submitted by the alleged victim, he has stated that he and accused no.1 are involved in Crime No.102 of 2025 registered by Banashankari Police Station and in the said case they were arrested and sent to jail. Accused no.1 - Praveen had demanded money from the victim in the present case, who was in custody in Crime No.102 of 2025 along with the accused no.1, for the purpose of making arrangements for filing necessary application to be released on bail in Crime No.102 of 2025. 5. The victim allegedly had not paid any money to accused no.1. After the victim in the present case and accused no.1 were released from jail in Crime No.102 of 2025, accused no.1 along with his friends had entered into the house of first - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010420152026 NC: 2026:KHC:40149 CRL.P No. 8883 of 2026 informant / victim on 01.06.2026 and had forcibly taken him along with them and thereafter, assaulted him demanding money. Subsequently, they had released the victim and thereafter he had approached the police. 6. Undisputedly, name of petitioner's is not found in the FIR registered in the present case nor they are accused in Crime No.102 of 2025 registered by Banashankari Police Station in which accused no.1 in the present case as well as the victim are arraigned as accused. Victim has not suffered any grievous injury as a result of assault committed by the other persons, who allegedly were present along with accused nos.1 and 2 in the present case. It is not in dispute that, petitioners herein do not have any other criminal antecedents. Major portion of the investigation in the case is now completed. Under the circumstances, the following:- ORDER (i) Criminal petition is allowed. (ii) The petitioners are directed to be enlarged on bail in Crime No.70 of 2026 registered by Jayaprakashnagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for offences punishable under Sections - 5 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010420152026 NC: 2026:KHC:40149 CRL.P No. 8883 of 2026 115(2), 140(2), 329(4), 351(2), 352 R/w Section 3(5) of BNS, 2023, subject to the following conditions: a) Petitioners shall execute a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) each with two sureties for the likesum, to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Court; b) The petitioners shall appear regularly on all the dates of hearing before the Trial Court unless the Trial Court exempts their appearance for valid reasons; c) The petitioners shall not directly or indirectly threaten or tamper with the prosecution witnesses; d) The petitioners shall not involve in similar offences in future: e) The petitioners shall not leave the jurisdiction of the Trial Court without permission of the said Court until the case registered against them is disposed off.
