Supplementary affidavit submitted by the petitioners is taken on record. The petitioners who are members of Bangitola Gram Panchayat submitted a no confidence motion for removal of the Upa Pradhan of the Panchayat before the Prescribed Authority on 21st July, 2026. By a notice issued on 27th July, 2026, the Prescribed Authority fixed the date of meeting on 10th August, 2026. However, by a subsequent notice issued on 7th August, 2026, the meeting was postponed due to non-availability of police assistance. During pendency of the writ petition, a further notice has been issued by the Prescribed Authority on 12th August, 2026 fixing the date of meeting on 21st August, 2026. 2 Due to such changed circumstance, the petitioners seek a direction upon the police authority to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority so that the meeting is held without any hindrance. In view of the fact that the date of meeting has been fixed on 21st August, 2026, the Officer in Charge Mothabari Police Station, being the 6th respondent herein, is directed to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority so that the meeting is held peacefully and without any hindrance from any corner whatsoever. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
