1. This writ petition alleges inaction on the part of the respondent CESC Authorities in providing electricity supply to the petitioners despite making an application therefor.
2. Learned Advocate appearing for the respondent CESC Authorities submits that CESC Authorities had gone for conducting inspection but they were unable to do so since the petitioners’ premises could not be indentified.
3. It is submitted that the petitioners have been informed by a letter that the CESC Authorities would be in a position to conduct inspection if the petitioners provide any identifiable landmark near the petitioners’ premises or the number of pole nearest to her premises.

4. Mr. Halder, learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that no such letter has been communicated to the petitioner as alleged by the CESC Authorities in Court today.
5. However, since the CESC Authorities have stated before Court that they have not been able to conduct inspection since the exact location of the petitioner’s premises was not available to them, therefore, the petitioner are
directed to inform the CESC Authorities in writing about any landmark in the vicinity of the petitioners’ premises and the pole number of the nearest pole, if possible, so as to enable the respondent CESC Authorities to take appropriate steps including conducting inspection.
6. The CESC Authorities shall conduct inspection at the petitioner’s premises within a week from the date the aforesaid information is provided by the petitioner.
7. If upon inspection, the CESC Authorities find that the petitioners are entitled to get electricity in accordance with law, then the CESC Authorities would proceed to grant electricity to the petitioners in accordance with law subject to the petitioners complying with all formalities and paying all requisite charges.

8. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 20929 of 2026 stands disposed of. No costs.
