The prayer clothed in the instant writ petition appertains to issuance of directions to release interest @ 9% per annum, on the delayed payment of arrears of regular pay scale from the date of regularization till the date of actual Payment alongwith all consequential benefits, in view of a judgment rendered in “Geeta Rani and State of Punjab” (CWP 13252 of 2018, decided on 09.09.2025) 2. There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. 3. Having perused the writ petition, this Court finds that the petitioners have already raised their claim before the competent authority/respondent concerned by serving a legal notice dated 05.03.2026 (Annexure P-9), however, no decision has yet been taken thereon. 4. At this stage, learned State counsel, who is present in Court upon receipt of an advance copy of the writ petition, submits that he DHARAM VIR 2026.08.01 14:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP-23753-2026 -2- has no objection in case a direction is issued to the competent authority/ respondent concerned to decide the legal notice (supra) within a stipulated period. 5. In view of the above statement, and without evincing any opinion on merits of the petitioners claim, the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority amongst the official respondents to take a final decision on the legal notice (supra) by passing a speaking order, within six weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 6. Liberty is reserved to the petitioners to seek revival of the instant writ petition in the event the authority fails to comply with the directions issued hereinabove. 7. Disposed of accordingly.
