Complaining illegal and unauthorized construction, the instant writ petition has been filed. The petitioner also complains of non mutation of premises no. 75 Udayan Pally, Govt. Colony – 1, Ward no. 01, Hind Motor, Hooghly. 2. When the writ petition was taken up for consideration on 12th August 2026, this Court had directed the municipality to carry out an inspection of the locale upon notice to the parties and file a report. 3. Today, the learned advocate appearing for the municipality has placed before this Court a notice dated 12th August 2026 and would submit that an inspection has been scheduled on 19th August 2026 at 11.45 A.M. at the municipal holding no. 75/1 Udaya Pally, Govt. Colony – 1, Ward no. 01, Hind Motor, Hooghly. 2 4. Having regard to the disclosure made in the notice dated 12th August 2026 and since the municipal authorities have now taken steps, in my view, nothing survives in the instant writ petition, the writ petition accordingly stands disposed of with a direction upon the municipal authorities to complete the enquiry already initiated by them vide its notice dated 12th August 2026 and to bring the same to a logical conclusion on expeditious basis preferably within a period of 6 weeks from the date of communication of this order by passing a reasoned order. 5. It is made clear that if the municipal authorities detect any unauthorized construction, appropriate steps under Section 218 of the West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993 shall be initiated. 6. The Municipal authorities are also directed to dispose of the petitioner’s representation by the reasoned order. 7. With the above direction and observation, the writ petition is disposed of. 8.
