1. The instant writ petition is filed by the petitioner for non action on the part of the respondent authorities to provide the electric connection within the prescribed period i.e. thirty days from the date of application despite the fact that the petitioner has fulfilled all the required criteria.

The fact of this case in a nutshell is that the petitioner is an encroacher on the government revenue land bearing survey No. 551/2 measuring an area of 200 Sq.mtrs situated at Valluvar Nagar at Bambooflat village under Ferrargunj Tehsil and he constructed semi RCC residential house and residing there without any disturbance and he is in a settled possession.
3. The petitioner applied for the electric connection and made the necessary representation on 22.12.2025, but even after seventy days no action has been taken.
4. The learned advocate representing on behalf of the respondent authorities submits that representation will be considered and subject to compliance of all formalities he will be provided with the electricity.

Having heard both the learned counsels and on going through the materials on record and the law laid down in this regard it can be said that the electricity being an essential amenities attached with live, the authority concerned ought to have considered the representation within the stipulate time period since it is a settled law that a trespasser is also entitled to this basic amenities.
6. However, since the learned advocate representing the respondent has assured this Court to dispose of the representation at an earliest, direction is given further to dispose it of within a period of fortnight and to take appropriate steps to provide the electricity to the petitioner.
7. Hence this writ petition is allowed with the above observation.
8. No order as to costs.
9. Parties are to act on the server copy of the order.
