Azad Alam respondent in-person. **** DEEPAK GUPTA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner is appearing through his son-Mohd. Jumed Alam, who is present in-person, submits that on account of on-going suspension of work by the Local Bar, his counsel is not appearing. He has apprised this Court of the fact that the simple prayer made by the petitioner is to direct the concerned Appellate Court to take up and decide the appeal bearing CA-426-2025, pending before it or in the alternative to decide the application for early hearing. 2. The aforesaid appeal is pending before learned Additional District Judge, Patiala and as per the zimini orders placed on record, the next date is fixed for 05.08.2026 for awaiting the trial Court record and arguments. 3. Though the appeal was filed only in 2025 and this Court presumes that the concerned appellate Court must be having on its docket old appeals, VIVEK PAHWA 2026.07.31 12:10 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CR-5749-2026 2026:PHHC:104541 but considering the request made on behalf of the petitioner, which is not opposed by the respondent, who is also present in person, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned Appellate Court to take appropriate steps for expeditious disposal of the appeal by keeping in view the pendency before it, particularly the old cases. 4.
