Ganesh Babu For Respondent(s): Order This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent Revenue Divisional Officer, Cuddalore District to conduct an enquiry pursuant to the petitioner's representations dated 30.09.2025 and 01.12.2025 and to cancel the patta wrongly issued in the 5th and 6th respondents in respect of the lands comprised in Survey Nos.209/16 (0.66 Ares) and 209/17 (0.18 Ares), Vallampadugai Village, Chidambaram Taluk, Cuddalore District and consequently issue patta in the name of the petitioner within a time frame. 2. The petitioner is the absolute owner of the subject lands bearing S.Nos.209/16 and 209/17, having derived valid title through a registered Gift Deed dated 2002 executed by his grandmother Mrs.Pattayal. The said Pattayal, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 19113 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 being the lawful owner, conveyed the property to the petitioner out of love and affection and since then, the petitioner been in continuous, peaceful possession and enjoyment of the same. While so, upon applying for mutation of revenue records, the petitioner was shocked to note that patta had been erroneously issued in the names of Mr.Sundarapandian, who is a relative without any lawful claim and Mrs.Indirani, who is a complete stranger to the title. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner submitted detailed representations dated 30.09.2025 and 01.12.2025 along with all title documents to the respondents and despite receipt of the same, the respondents failed to take any action, conduct enquiry or rectify the patta entries. In view of the continued inaction of the respondents, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition. 3. In reply, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner’s representation dated 30.09.2025 and 01.12.2025 will be disposed of by the 2nd respondent within a period of twelve weeks. 4. In view of the above, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 30.09.2025 and 01.12.2025 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
