TRIBHUVAN DAHIYA, J. (ORAL) The petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to rectify the death certificate of the husband of petitioner no.1 by correcting the name of his spouse.
2. Learned State counsel, on instructions, submits that petitioners have not approached the competent authority, i.e. Chief Registrar (Births & Deaths), Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab (respondent no.2) for correction of the death certificate. He further submits that, in case any representation is filed by the petitioners along with all relevant documents, based upon which the correction is being sought, the same shall be examined and an appropriate decision shall be taken, in accordance with law, within eight weeks of submitting the said representation.
3. In view of the statement made, learned counsel for the petitioner has no objection to the petition being disposed of in terms thereof.
