Following reliefs have been prayed in this petition:- “10.1 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct respondent No.2/competent VISHAKHA BEOHAR Digitally signed by VISHAKHA BEOHAR 2 authority to consider and decide the representation dated 13.07.2026 submitted by the petitioner for grant of lease/patta in respect of the land bearing Khasra No. 574, Rakba 0.045 hectare, situated at Village Amdi, Tahsil Lundra, District Surguja (C.G.), in accordance with law, in the interest of justice. 10.2 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to restrain the respondents from disturbing the possession of the petitioner on land till the application filed by the petitioner is not decided. 10.3 Any other relief (s) that this Hon'ble Court may deem fit to grant in the facts and circumstances of this case.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed an application/representation dated 13.07.2026 before the competent authority/Collector seeking grant of lease/patta in respect of land bearing Khasra No. 574, admeasuring 0.045 hectare, situated at Village Amdi, Tahsil Lundra (Dhourpur), District Surguja, over which the petitioner claims to be in possession for a long period. It is submitted that the said application is still pending consideration and has not been decided till date. Learned counsel, therefore, prays that a direction may be issued to the competent authority to consider and decide the said application within a stipulated period. 3. Learned State Counsel does not oppose the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 3 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record. 5. Having regard to the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, without entering into the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the competent authority/Collector, District Surguja, is directed to consider and decide the petitioner's application/representation dated 13.07.2026 seeking grant of lease/patta in respect of the aforesaid land, strictly in accordance with law, within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. Till the decision on the aforesaid application, the respondents are directed not to take any coercive action against the petitioner in respect of the subject land, subject to the petitioner not creating any third-party interest therein. 7. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, and the competent authority shall take an independent decision in accordance with law. 8.
