Present petition has been filed with the following prayer:
“a) A writ in the nature of mandamus do issue commanding the respondent authorities particularly Respondent No.1 to renew the permission in favour of the petitioner to carry out extraction of earth as per Work Order No. 2024101ECR00158 dated 01.08.2024. b) A writ in the nature of mandamus directing Respondent No.1 to consider the grant renewal/extension of permission for extraction of earth pursuant to the permit dated 01.08.2024 and Earth Cutting Permission dated 06.09.2024; c) A writ in the nature of prohibition do issue prohibiting the Respondent authorities, proceeding in the matter being illegal, malafide and against the principles of natural justice, fair play and equity. d) Rule NISI in terms of prayers a, b and c above. e) Any orders further order or orders and or direction as your Lordship deem fit and proper.”
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that their representation dated 07th May, 2025 for the renewal of permission for extraction of earth is still pending before the Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the concerned officer for expeditious disposal of such petition in accordance with the law. Ms. Babita Das, learned counsel appearing for the opposite parties submits on instructions that the representation dated 07th May, 2025 is pending with the Assistant

Commissioner, South Andaman, Sri Vijaya Puram shall be decided expeditiously, preferably within the period of eight weeks after the joint inspection. In view of the submissions made the present petition is
disposed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman, Sri Vijaya Puram to dispose of the representation dated 07th May, 2025 in accordance with law within a period of six weeks. The writ petition is disposed of.
