Mr. Ishwari Dutt Paliwal, Advocate for the petitioner. 2. Mr. G.S. Negi, Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. Petitioner is serving as Gram Panchayat Vikas Adhikari at Vikasnagar, District Dehradun. He has been transferred from Vikasnagar Block to Sahaspur Block, vide order dated 10.06.2025, passed by District Magistrate, Dehradun. Thus, feeling aggrieved, petitioner has approached this Court. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that petitioner is due to retire in January, 2027 and he comes under the category of senior employee, therefore, he cannot be transferred at the fag-end of his service career. He further submits that the pension papers of a Government employee are to be prepared at the last year of his service; therefore, if he is transferred at this stage to Sahaspur, preparation of pension papers of the petitioner would be delayed. 5. Learned State Counsel submits that the transfer was made on the recommendation of Transfer Committee headed by District Magistrate. He, however, submits that if petitioner makes representation against his transfer, the competent authority shall look into the 2026:UHC:2878 matter, sympathetically. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of by permitted the petitioner to make representation to the District Magistrate within two weeks. If petitioner makes representation within the stipulated time, decision thereupon shall be taken by the District Magistrate, as per law, within six months thereafter. For a period of six months or till decision is taken on the representation, whichever is earlier, status quo as regards petitioner’s posting shall be maintained.
