Mr. Ranojoy Chatterjee Mr. Prabal Das ……for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner has been implicated on alleged recovery of 1.8 litres of Codeine Mixture and is in custody for 1 year 4 months. Although, charge sheet has been submitted but there has been no progress in the case. State has opposed the prayer for bail and submitted the memorandum of evidence. The memorandum of evidence reflects the previous antecedents of the petitioner wherein 9 criminal cases have been registered against him. Out of which 3 are murder cases with Arms Act and one NDPS Case. 2 Having considered the antecedents of the present petitioner, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (NDPS) 1701 of 2026 is dismissed. Memo of Evidence submitted be kept with the record. A copy of the memorandum of evidence be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner.
