C.R.R. 3157 of 2026 Ashoke Kumar Paul Vs. The State of West Bengal & Anr.
Mr. Surojit Saha
……for the Petitioner
This is an application seeking the expeditious hearing of the proceedings in CRLY No. 1754 of 2026, SC No. 32(06)22, ST No. 03(11)22, in connection with ACGR No. 2523 of 2020, arising out of Netaji Nagar Police Station Case No. 178 of 2020 dated May 29, 2020, registered under Sections 279 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that only the examination-in-chief and cross-examination of P.W.1 have been completed in the case. However, the cross-examination of P.W.2 to P.W.8 has been deferred after their examination-in- chief. The petitioner is the de facto complainant and the father of the victim. Having regard to the fact that the case has remained pending for about six years, I dispose of this revisional application with a direction to the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two years from the date of this order, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
2 Accordingly, CRR 3157 of 2026 stands disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
