D/L236 05.08.2026 Bpg. C.R.M. (M) 1638 of 2026 In Re: An application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Kalyani Police Station Case No.1008 of 2025 under Sections 109/118(2)/126(2)/115(2)/79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and section 24 of Senior Citizen Act dated 08.10.2025; Ranjit Adhikary Versus The State of West Bengal Mr. Debjit Sahani. …for the petitioner. Ms. Surabhi Banerjee. …for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a cardiac patient who is in custody for about 10 months. Charge-sheet has been submitted but till date the case has not progressed. Learned advocate for the State has produced the case diary and submitted that the petitioner inflicted serious injury over property dispute on his mother. Having regard to the conduct of the present petitioner, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case for granting bail. Petitioner will renew the prayer for bail after the stage of overcoming the charges. At this stage, CRM(M)1638 of 2026 is dismissed. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 2 Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
