ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before this Court calling in question proceedings in Crime No.07/2021, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498A, 506 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

2. Heard Sri.M.R.C.Manohar,
learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Sri.Vinay Mahadevaiah, learned HCGP appearing for respondent No.1 and have perused the material on record.
3. The parties to the lis were also before the Family Court in M.C.No.5209/2020 and have settled the dispute amongst themselves before the Family Court by terms of settlement. One of the term of the settlement is, closure of the present proceedings. The said term in the settlement reads as follows:
"…6. In view of the settlement arrived between the parties herein, the respondent has agreed to withdraw Crl.Misc.57/2021 pending before MMTC V, Bengaluru, filed against the petitioner herein under DV Act, as not pressed.
7. In view of the above settlement arrived between the parties, the respondent has agreed to cooperate in closing/quashing Crime No.7/2021 filed in Women's Police Station, Shivajinagar against the petitioner herein and his family members for the offences punishable under Sections 498-A, 506 r/w 34 of IPC and Sections 3 & 4 of D.P. Act in Crl.P.7085/2021 before the Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru, in accordance with law.
8. In view of the above settlement both the parties hereby withdraw all the allegations made

against each other either in this petition or in connected cases or orally.
9. Both the parties undertake not to interfere in the lives of each other in future.
10. Both the parties have entered into to this settlement agreement on their own free will and volition, without any force, threat, coercion or undue influence from any one. II. In view of the aforesaid agreement entered into between the parties, the parties pray that this Hon'ble Court be pleased to dissolve the marriage solemnized on 01.07.2018 at Sri Krishna Palace, Opp: East Point Medical Collage and Hospital, Avalahalli- Bidarahalli Main Road, Hirandahalli, Virgonagara Post, Bengaluru - 560 049, by granting a decree of divorce, in terms of this agreement/settlement…"
4. Therefore, in light of the settlement arrived at between the parties quoted supra and the offences not being against the State, I deem it appropriate to terminate the proceedings pending against the petitioner in the subject petition.
5. For the aforesaid reasons, the following:
ORDER i. Criminal Petition is disposed.
ii. Proceedings in Crime No.07/2021 pending before the VI Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mayo

Hall, Bengaluru (previously pending before VI ACJM, Bengaluru), stands quashed, qua the petitioner.
