Mr. Saurabh Kumar Pandey, learned counsel for the petitioners. 2. Mr. Sandeep Sharma, learned A.G.A. for the State. 3. 3. By the instant petition, the petitioners Nisha Khan D/o Shri Afak Khan and Dilnabaj Beg S/o Shri Dilshad Beg are praying for the following reliefs. “Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.1 & 2 to provide adequate protection to the petitioner from respondent no. 3 to 6 to as the life and liberty of petitioners are in danger.” 4. It is contended that both the petitioners are major and were in love with each other and now married on 08.04.2026. The Nikah Nama is also placed on record. Both of them belongs to the same religion and are major. The Aadhar Cards and other documents have been enclosed and on perusal of the same both the petitioners are major. 5. On the other side, Mr. Sandeep Sharma, the learned A.G.A. have not disputed the age of the petitioners. 6. It is contended that the respondent no. 3 to 6 were against their marriage and 2026:UHC:2732 therefore, there is a threat perception from them. 7. Taking into consideration that both the petitioners are major and now married with each other, and if there is a threat perception from the side of the private respondents then the State is under legal obligation to ensure their safety. 8. Accordingly, I dispose of the instant writ petition with the direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Udham Singh Nagar to assess the threat perception if any to the petitioners from the private respondents and if he comes to the conclusion that there is any threat from the private respondents, he shall take appropriate steps. In addition to this the S.H.O. concerned shall call upon the private respondents and advise them not to take the law in their hands. 9. The petition is disposed of finally in the aforesaid terms.
