Gautam Sharma, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the applicant and submitted that the present application has been filed for condoning the delay of 680 days in preferring a Appeal against the judgment and order dated 08.01.2024 passed by the Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court) for Crime Against Women, Manipur in Sessions Trial (CAW) Case No. 34 of 2018 convicting the applicant and sentencing to rigorous imprisonment for a period of 14 years. The learned counsel submitted that the said appeal as well as the condonation application have been filed as Legal Aid Services. Mr. Y. Ashang, learned senior counsel and PP appearing for the respondents submitted that he has no objection in allowing the condonation application and to hear the connected criminal appeal on merit. Accordingly, the present application is allowed by condoning the delay of 680 days in filing the connected criminal appeal. Registry is directed to number the criminal appeal and to list it for admission hearing if the same is otherwise found to be in order.
