Apprehending her arrest in FIR No.51 dated 25.02.2026, registered for offences punishable under Sections 108 and 3(5) of the BNS, 2023, at Police Station Bhikhi, District Mansa, the petitioner has preferred this petition under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeking pre-arrest bail. 2. On 02.07.2026, the following order was passed: “Apprehending her arrest in FIR No.51 dated 25.02.2026, registered for offences punishable under Sections 108 and 3(5) of the BNS, 2023, at Police Station Bhikhi, District Mansa; the petitioner has preferred this petition under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeking pre-arrest bail. Inter alia relies upon the orders dated 18.05.2026 passed in CRM-M-17159-2026, dated 18.05.2026 passed in CRM-M- 15321-2026 and dated 18.05.2026 passed in CRM-M-18948- NAVEEN NAGPAL 2026.07.27 18:21 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment HIgh Court Chandigarh CRM-M-30882-2026 P a g e | 2 2026; the petitioner is a lady aged 31 years with clean antecedents, & the petitioner is willing to join investigation and cooperate therein. Notice of motion. On the strength of advance service of copy of petition, Mr. Adhiraj Singh Thind, AAG Punjab appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondent State of Punjab. Put up on 27.07.2026. The petitioner is directed to appear before the Investigating Officer on 07.07.2026 at 11:00 A.M. in concerned Police Station and join investigation. In the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on interim bail subject to her furnishing personal/surety bond(s) to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer/Investigating Officer. As and when furthof called by Investigating Officer, the petitioner shall join the investigation. She shall abide by the condition(s) enumerated under Section 482(2) of Bharatiya Nagari Suraksha Sanbita 2023.” 3. Learned State counsel (on instructions) has submitted that the petitioner has joined investigation and she is not required for custodial interrogation. 4. Keeping in view the factual milieu of the case in hand, especially the factum of the petitioner having joined investigation and she is not required for custodial interrogation, the petition is allowed and the order dated 02.07.2026 granting interim anticipatory bail to the petitioner is hereby made absolute, subject to the conditions as enumerated under Section 482(2) of BNSS. 5. This order should not be treated as “blanket” order. It will not be read granting petitioner indefinite protection from arrest. It shall be confined to the FIR mentioned ibid and will not operate in respect of any other incident that involves commission of an offence.
