The petitioner, apprehending arrest, has filed the present petition under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023, though he did not have any details regarding Page No.# 2/2 registration of any case against him. Accordingly, a report was called for from the concerned police station. Pursuant thereto, a report dated 31.03.2026 has been received and placed before the Court by the prosecution, stating that upon verification of the records, no case has been found registered against the petitioner at Mangaldai Police Station. In view of the above, the present petition for anticipatory bail is not maintainable and is accordingly disposed of. Needless to say, if in future the petitioner has any bona fide apprehension of arrest in connection with any police case, he shall be at liberty to avail remedies available under law.
