Petitioner is adopted son of late Sumitra, who was employed as Sweeper in Nagar Nigam, Haridwar. Sumitra died on 26.12.2020 while still in service. 3. According to petitioner, he applied for compassionate appointment on 21.12.2024, and thereafter reminders were also sent on 30.12.2024 and 01.04.2026, but no decision has been taken on his request. 4. The adoption deed as well as succession certificate are enclosed as Anneuxre-2 and 3 to the writ petition. 5. Mr. Lalit Miglani, learned counsel appearing for Nagar Palika concedes that there is provision for compassionate appointment to dependents of deceased employees. He submits that if petitioner submits application within one week, decision thereupon shall be taken as per law, within eight weeks. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed 2026:UHC:2876 of by permitting petitioner to submit application. If he submits application within one week from today, decision thereupon shall be taken by the competent authority as per law, within eight weeks thereafter.
