19.08.2026 IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Item No.9 CRIMINAL MISCELLANEOUS JURISDICTION Ct.No.35 dc. Rejected C.R.M. (M) 1657 of 2026 In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Domkal Police Station Case No. 757 of 2024 dated 02.11.2024 under Section 65(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 6 of the POCSO Act. And In Re : Nur Nabi Mondal @ Nur Nobi Mondal ... Petitioner. Mr. Sandip Chakraborty, Mr. Kaustav Das, Ms. Payel Das ... For the Petitioner. Mr. Anurag Sardar ... For the State. Mr. Saryati Datta ... For the de facto complainant. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year 9 months. It has been submitted that petitioner is a relation who has been foisted with the present criminal case because of other disputes. Learned advocate appearing for the de facto complainant opposes the prayer for bail because of conduct of the present petitioner. Learned advocate appearing for the State has produced the case diary and drawn the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS as well as the medico-legal examination report. 2 I have taken into account the medico-legal examination report and prima facie I find that there is corroboration. Having considered the materials appearing against the present petitioner, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 1657 of 2026, is, thus, dismissed. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
